It is hard being a Dad

I know it is cliche, but it is easy to become a father, but real hard to be a dad.

I have three beautiful daughters (ages 26, 24, and 15). Several times I have had two differing comments made about having three girls. One is that I have a place in heaven waiting for me (A nice thought) OR that I was not so nice to women in a past life and this is the payback (hopefully not true, but much more amusing)

My relationship with my daughters was incredibly special and close. I considered myself "Super Dad" and spent a tremendous amount of time with each of them. Weather it was changing diapers (I know this really dates me , but they we cloth ones !) , dressing them, taking them for walks, being a toy , or coaching them in sports, I did it all with pure joy !

Things started going bad with the two older ones when I got divorced. They were around 17 and 15 when that happened and the "blame" seem to fall on me. I did everything in my power to avoid affecting them in any way (including, againt my lawyers advice, going above and beyond in the finanacial support area). At first it was going well , but my ex started to posion them against me and we started to drift apart. Thankfully my youngest was able to see beyond her years and recongise what was going on and to this day we have an awesome relationship.

Well , that is the begining of my story, what is yours ?

Welcome to My World

Although I am not new to the internet or computers, I am new to the world of Blogging.

I am going to start off with a few areas that interest me the most and I hope that I can attract some comments. It is overwhelming the number of people blogging ! The depth and breath of the subject matters just blow my mind.

So fellow new bloggers, what have your experiences been ?

Old School becomes New School

I have been working with computers since the early 80's ! (yeah I know some of you reading this were not even born yetLaughing) . My first experience was using punch cards and I caught the computer bug. At that time there were no personal computers, just mainframes with "dumb" terminals attached for interaction. When PCs did come along, I got one of the first ones where I worked. I thought I was a hot shit, cause I had one with a 10 meg harddrive and a 5 1/4 inch floppy drive that held 1.5 MB of data ! Sealed. The web was only something spiders made ! (spiders meaning the bug not the search kind) It has been really exciting growing up along side computers and the web and sometimes I can't believe how far and how fast they have progressed.

So I thought I would finally get on board with blogging ! I would love to hear from fellow "old timers" who have grown up as I have.

I finally had someone else who remembers the "good old days" ! Kate does DOS !
